Temporary Insanity
stress

Each of us (yes, I’m including myself) will at some point this year go temporarily insane. You might forget your writing assignment or you might forget to bring a project with you to school on the day it is due.

To accommodate for occasional mishaps, I am issuing you a temporary insanity pass. If you happen to forget an assignment you can use your insanity pass to keep from receiving a zero. You can only use your pass one time for each six-week period. If you do not use your pass during a six-week period, you will earn twenty extra credit points to be added to your final point total at the end of the six-week period. The extra credit may not be earned if you have any zeroes.

Your temporary insanity pass cannot be used for tests.

Directions:

1. On a sheet of paper write:

Ms. Martino,

I do not have my _____________________ done. I am using my temporary insanity pass and will turn in the assignment tomorrow.

Your Name

2. When I empty out the tray at the end of the day and I grade papers, I will see your note. I will then put a checkmark in my grade book to indicate that you have used your temporary insanity pass.

3. You cannot have your temporary insanity back if you decide not to complete the assignment. Once you have taken your insanity opportunity it is gone until the next six-week period.

The insanity pass will give you ONE additional day to turn in an assignment before receiving a zero.
