WES Technology

Walsingham technology gives students opportunities and resources for learning. Classrooms have one teacher station and four to five student stations. The school also has three labs.

One lab has 28 Emacs that provides basic instruction, graphics, and wordprocessing for younger students and wordprocessing, presentation software, and internet access for older students. Third, fouth, and fifth graders attend technology classes weekly.

Training
Walsingham offers ongoing training for teachers offering a different software module every week and an indepth study of Curriculum/Technology integration.
One training that teachers participate in is Tech Strategies that Work. This indepth 8 week course provides the backgound for teachers to integrate technology into a unit that they currently use. The link is a partial unit that one teacher created. (Microsoft word)
Tech club
The Student TECH Club at Walsingham Elementary School was formed in the fall of 2004. The purpose of the Student TECH Club is to provide technical assistance to both the students and staff of Walsingham Elementary School.
Members:
*Serve as Student Technology Mentors for both students and teachers
* Learn many aspects of technology usage including the use of computers, printers, scanners, and digital cameras
* Learn various computer applications
* Learn basic troubleshooting and repair techniques
