Our History
South Ward Elementary is the oldest existing school in Pinellas County. The front building was built in 1906 and has the distinction of being on the National Historic Register.
Many of our students' parents and grandparents attended South Ward, making loyalty and pride very strong at our school. We are unique because we are a small school and can offer our students and parents personal attention.

Welcome
Dear Parents,
Welcome to South Ward Elementary School. The staff and faculty are happy to have you with us as new or returning parents and students. We are very proud of our school and invite you to share in building this pride with us. South Ward Elementary has the distinction of being on the National Historic Register. Many of our students' parents and grandparents attended South Ward, making loyalty and pride very strong at our school. We are unique because we are a small school and can offer our students and parents personal attention.
We are a partnership school with Morton Plant Mease Health Care, which allows their employees' children to attend South Ward, and our students, teachers and parents may receive services from Morton Plant.
We look forward to serving all of our community.
Sincerely, Mr. Rozelle, Principal
