Code Red/Lock Down
Occasionally we receive a call from the Sheriff's Department informing us that there is a dangerous individual in the area and we need to lock down our campus to be safe. We have a very specific process that we use each time this happens. We have even practiced this process so we can do it quickly and safely each time it arises. When we receive the police call from the Sherifff's Departmenta "code red" announcement is made over the intercom and on the walkie talkies to our PE department. at that point teachers take all students into a classroom, lock the doors, close the blinds, and turn out the lights. The students are instructed to stay still and away from the windows and doors. All bathroom doors and other outside doors are locked. The administrative team is positioned in the hallls to observe and is in constant contact with the front office that is in contact with the Sheriff'a department. As you can see, the process is very safe with the safety of all students a top priority. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call or e-mail.
