Principal- Jean Marks
Hello, I’m Jean Marks, Principal of Sawgrass Lake Elementary. This is my fifth year at Sawgrass Lake, and I love it! The staff, students and families at Sawgrass make it a great school. There is a warm, family feeling at our school that helps our students thrive.
We’ve been on the move here at Sawgrass. Let me take a moment to highlight some of our accomplishments. Last year our, fourth- grade staff and students worked together to earn the highest score in Sawgrass Lake’s history on the Florida Writes Test, a test that all fourth graders in Florida take each year. We saw improvement in many areas of the FCAT as well.
Additionally, we built a Low Ropes Course with funding though our terrific P.T.A. The low ropes course is designed to teach children quality communication skills and how to cooperate together through movement. Members of our staff have been trained now and we’ll soon be taking groups of students through the course. It’s fun and students learn quickly! Sawgrass Lake - a great place to get an education!
