Art- Ms. Levine Art Mission Statement As artists, we will be creative and critical thinkers. We will do this through a series of activities that motivate and challenge us to think, discover, and to imagine while experiencing numerous art techniques and processes using different types of media.
The Sawgrass Lake Elementary Art program encompasses many processes such as drawing, painting, collage, printing, and sculpting. As students move through the grade levels, K-5, they explore age-appropriate materials and learn a variety of processes. We learn about artists, explore many cultures and learn to think and create like artists.

Music Mr. Pipkin's Moodle Site Registration Music Department Mission Statement Music and children are natural companions. The essential gift of music, the sensing of an expressive form which addresses the human condition in unique and irreplaceable ways, should be available to every child, according to his or her abilities and interests. When children are given the opportunity to explore and grow with music, in both formal and informal instructional settings, they are provided the means for discovering lasting and important human qualities in themselves and in the social environment they encounter in the school. The cultivation and valuing of the expressive forms found in music are educational priorities because they are vital to children during their school years as well as valuable in their adult lives. Therefore, it is my goal to: 1) To provide every child with the essential ingredients of the musical experience in an environment which consistently promotes growth in, valuing of, and identification with music as a meaningful part of the child's education. 2) To provide basic and regular learning experiences with music from which each child can pursue his or her interests and talents as appropriate. 3) To provide a rich and varied set of musical experiences which represent the cultures of the world. 4) To enable every child to discover the relationship of music to the other arts and disciplines. 5) To provide useful, valid and meaningful links between music and life.
The life of the arts is far from an interruption, a distraction, in the life of a nation, is close to the center of a nation's purpose-and is a test of the quality of a nations' civilization.
