| | Neighborhood School | San Jose Elementary officially opened its doors on September 2, 1958 to serve a rapidly growing area of North Pinellas County. The school is built on an elevated site of Dunedin Isles that was mainly orange groves and part hammock. San Jose Elementary is culturally diverse, and has a large number of children who attend the school who live in the immediate vicinity. The school has a long and rich history and has a large number of students who are children of alumni. San Jose Elementary has a proud tradition of serving the community! |

San Jose has been determined to be the 'Most Energy Efficient Elementary School in Pinellas County 2010-2011'. This is the 2nd straight year we have led the county! We are please to be a district leader. Good Job Conserving Energy Everyone! Everyone can make a difference. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!
San Jose has a balanced curriculum focusing on reading, writing and math. Working together as a family creates a happy, small-school environment that focuses on Commitment to Character and the San Jose ABC's, the school-wide behavior plan (Act Responsibly; Be Respectful and Cooperate). |

| | Click Here to Find Out What's Up With Student Assignment in 2011-12 | To register a new student for the 2011-12 school year, follow these easy steps:
STEP 1: Find Your Zoned School: Go online at www.pcsb.org and use the 'Zoned School Locater' or call Student Assignment, (727) 588-6210.
STEP 2: Reserve a Seat: To reserve a seat at the zoned school, parents will use the online Student Reservation System (SRS) located on the district website, at www. pcsb.org. To use the SRS system, they will need a PCS Portal User ID and password. Those who need a new PCS Portal User ID and password, should visit the nearest school with a valid ID (Driver's License, Sate ID card, Passport/Visa, Military ID, Green Card)
STEP 3: The final step for parents to enroll their child in school is to visit the assigned school and deliver the required documents including Birth Certificate; Proof of Residency such as a utility bill or rental agreement; Child's Social Security number; Child's most recent Report Card- for students entering grades 1-12; Florida Certificate of Immunization; Physical Exam Certificate and Recent IEP (if the child uses exceptional education services). |

| | Homework Helpline is OPEN and Waiting to Help | The Pinellas County Schools Homework Helpline is here to help your child. If your child needs help with their homework in any subject area, you may call 547-7223 or 442-3226 from 5-8pm on Mondays through Thursdays. It is for grades K-12. The call is free. If you get a busy signal call, keep trying as certain nights are busier than others. |
