Welcome to Pinellas Central's Physical Education Page

MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of our program is to provide developmentally appropriate opportunities for all students to grow and develop physically and socially through a movement based curriculum. The curriculum is designed to provide knowledge, skills, and behaviors that will enable an individual to be active and physically fit throughout their life.

Program Information

Our P.E. team here at Pinellas Central includes: Mr. Tuttle, Mrs. Kopitsky, Mrs. Totten and Mr. Wilson. Students in grades PreK-3 have PE daily for 30 minutes, and those in grades 4-5 have PE 4 days a week, 40 minutes each day. Our goals are to improve motor skills and raise fitness levels while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. Our curriculum is based on skills as outlined in the Florida Sunshine State Standards and Pinellas County Essential Learnings. Activities are sequenced with your child’s abilities and interests in mind.

Your student's fitness levels are a priority. We assess levels throughout the year using the county recommended Fitnessgram Standards and communicate progress to parents/guardians using the Fitnessgram Report Card. Students set personal goals regarding fitness levels and are encouraged to track their own progress.

Your student's safety is our important to us. Please make sure that we have all information about your student's specific needs and contact information in the event of an emergency. Students are permitted (and encouraged) to bring a water bottle to P.E.
