PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Mrs. Cowley has been with Pinellas County Schools since 1988. Most recently she was the Principal of North Ward Elementary. Mrs. Cowley graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Education, and earned a Masters in Ed Leadership at the University of South Florida. Mrs. Cowley is married with three daughters who are all Seminoles. The oldest (twins) are both nurses and both were married this past spring. The youngest daughter will be a senior at Florida State this fall majoring in mass communications.
I look forward to the great opportunity to be a part of Mildred Helms Elementary heritage.

Information about Mildred Helms Elementary
Mildred Helms was built in 1952 and opened as Largo Elementary. The school later was renamed Mildred Helms Elementary in recognition of its first principal. Since its beginning, Mildred Helms has benefited from the leadership of six principals and the dedication of a staff committed to providing a positive, safe and challenging learning environment. Through the years, this sustained and concerted effort has enabled its students to grow and excel both academically and socially.

Known as a "family-oriented" school, Mildred Helms Elementary has developed and maintains a strong support system composed of parents, business partners and local civic organizations. More than 315 registered volunteers have logged in excess of 7,500 hours, dedicated to enriching our environment and working cohesively with teachers toward highest student achievement.
