Mrs. Tijuana Baker
Currently, I am pursuing my Doctorate of Education degree in Educational Leadership and I hold certifications as School Principal K-12, Educational Leadership and Elementary Education grades 1-6 from the Florida Department of Education.
As a homegrown Pinellas County student, teacher, and administrator, I have served three years as a Principal and two years as an Assistant Principal at Campbell Park Elementary. In addition to being a teacher, I have worked as a Title I Curriculum Specialist at Sanderlin Elementary for approximately two years and High Point Elementary for approximately five years where I taught first and third grades.
During my career with Pinellas County Schools, I have worked in various school settings and have gained a wealth of leadership skills and abilities. These experiences have afforded me the opportunity to gain extensive experience in curriculum development, establish and manage school operations and build relationships with community partners. I have worked collaboratively with educational community programs and partnerships such as the Tampa Bay Rays, St. Petersburg Pier Aquarium and the United Way. I have planned and conducted curriculum meetings and school wide professional development planning.
As an administrator, I have facilitated the process of interpreting the district’s educational goals and helping teachers understand the District’s Strategic Plan. I have managed diverse teacher hiring and staffing needs, mentored staff and monitored the alignment of an integrated Marine Science Magnet curriculum. In addition, I have facilitated data analysis to continually improve student achievement and the process of the School Improvement Planning and development.
I feel that my administrative experiences have provided me with the ability to lead and serve as an effective Principal of Highland Lakes Elementary.
I am looking forward to a great school year!
