Battle of the Books

Sunshine State Young Reader Award Books Logo
2011-2012 Sunshine State Young Readers Award Titles

Students in grades 3-5 are encouraged to read 15 titles selected at the state level that have been designated as the Sunshine State Young Reader Award Books. Students who read at least eight of the books can participate in a qualifying test to compete in a school wide Battle of the Books. The winning school team will compete in a Regional competition. Regional winners will compete in a District competition. Students who read at least four of the SSYRA titles can vote for their favorite title in a spring election. This year's titles are:

Books
Library Policies

Students are welcome in the library from 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. daily.

Checkout Policies:
Kindergarten students may checkout one book.

Students in grades 2-5 may check out two books or one book and one magazine. K-1 may get one book.


Books may be kept for two weeks. Magazines may be kept for one week. No fines will be charged, but any student with an overdue may not check out anything else until the overdue item is returned.

If a student has a lost or damaged book or magazine, it must be paid for before any other item may be checked out.
