What Is Fundamental?
Bay Vista is one of five county wide fundamental elementary schools that focus on a back to basics approach with emphasis on Reading, Writing and Math. Maintaining a high standard of expected student behavior is also a major thrust of the program. Families must take an active role in the education of their children as demonstrated by attending 3 parent conferences, monthly parent meetings, signing all homework as well as the student agenda and supporting all policies and procedures. Bay Vista has a voluntary dress code. Students may wear long pants, dresses, skirts, and shirts with sleeves. If shorts are worn, they must be uniform shorts in khaki or dark blue.
Families wishing to attend Bay Vista must apply for one of our countywide seats. Application for fundamental schools is done prior to the regular choice application period and is done by phone. Applications can be obtained at the school or on this or the district's website.
Transportation to fundamental schools is not provided by the county. Families wanting to attend need to provide their own transportation. |
