An Introduction Established in 1964, Azalea Middle School boasts a long proud tradition of educational excellence. With an approximate enrollment of 1,100 students, Azalea Middle is located about a half mile west of Tyrone Square Mall in the Jungle Terrace neighborhood of St. Petersburg.
Completely rebuilt in 2001, our modern 160,000-square-foot $18.6 million-dollar facility provides a comfortable, state-of-the-art environment where students of all backgrounds and learning styles can thrive. Azalea Middle is built around the academic house concept – a contemporary design that includes separate designated areas for 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-grade students, along with common elective areas. Administrators and faculty help promote a safe learning environment by remaining highly visible in the hallways and classrooms, as well as encouraging students to take responsibility for their actions. We strive to partner with students and parents, as well as the greater Tampa Bay Area community, to provide a safe, stimulating environment where students have unique opportunities to learn and grow. Through a variety of programs and resources, our faculty is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives and education of all our valued students.
