The Seventy-Fourth Street School Advisory Council (SAC) is a team of people representing various segments of the community -- parents, teachers, students, administrators, support staff members, business/industry people and other interested community members.
The SAC is responsible for strategic planning for the school improvement plan and working jointly with the principal and staff members after analyzing relevant data. SAC determines the goals in the plan and how progress toward the goals will be measured.
Work groups, often called school improvement teams (SIT's) are responsible for developing and implementing strategies and action plans to accomplish the goals.

The Seventy-Fourth Street Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a team of people who work closely together with the school to enhance each and every child's education. PTA's purposes, in common with the National PTA are:
* to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
* to assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children;
* to encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

Please consider joining our SAC/PTA. Your membership will support an organization that will provide our students with activities and will raise money to support purchases for our school to promote highest student achievement.
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month in the Media Center beginning at 6:00pm. |
