Ms. Rose's Class Site

Mrs. Rose
Professor Rose earned her Master's Degree in English Literature and her Master of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing at Penn State University, where she also taught writing for eighteen years.

Rose did part-time freelance writing and worked for a year as a professional copywriter for an advertising firm.

After publishing a novel and a memoir, Rose became a professor of Creative Nonfiction Writing at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, where she also served as a Director of the Writing Center.

In 2002, she took a job at Eckerd College, Saint Petersburg, FL. There she not only served as the Writing Center Director, but she taught all kinds of writing classes, including Nature Writing. She also worked closely on Eckerd College's Writing Portfolio process.

She has been teaching in the International Baccalaureate Program at Palm Harbor University High School since 2005. Thanks to such excellent students and colleagues, this is her favorite gig so far.
Ms. Rose's IB English for Parents
Whether you're the parent of a freshman getting acclimated to the International Baccalaureate Program or of a senior sailing toward final assessments, you'll watch your students improve their reading, writing, and reasoning skills in IB English.

This website will help you keep an eye on your students' grades and familiarize you with the course that is designed to help your students think and write critically about literature. Even if your students aren't avid readers or a big fans of the works we read, the skills they learn in this class are transferable. Whatever their cumulative averages might be, they will strengthen their ability to analyze and communicate in their personal lives and in their future scholarly pursuits.
