The Essential Learnings are Pinellas County Schools visual arts core curriculum based on the Sunshine State Standards.
Kindergarten

1. I use a variety of drawing and painting tools with different materials.

2. I can tear, cut fold and glue.

3. I can create forms from clay and paper.

4. I use a variety of art tools and materials appropriately and safely.

5. I follow clean up directions.

6. I can name different lines, shapes, colors and textures.

7. I can create a repeating pattern

8. I can create pictures from my imagination or from real life and they can tell a story.

9. I know that people can express themselves visually.

10. I look at and can talk about art from other peoples, times, and places.

11. I can tell the difference between a real object and a work of art.

12. I can talk about art works using art words.

13. I look and listen appropriately during art presentations and museum visits.

1st Grade
