Daily Assignments
Our Classwork and Homework Assignments are posted on the boards in the classroom. Students are instructed to copy the agenda into their planner each day. This is a reference for the parents, as well, since it serves as a written record of our progress. Parents and students are able to keep track of what grades have been earned in Social Studies by checking Portal.

I am happy to help parents and students verify what make-up work from absences must be completed. Parents sometimes want to check into the "I don't have any homework" statements. I will be glad to sign the planner and ask that parents sign as well, so I will see that you have been informed.

Please note:
There are times when a class may get "behind". Under these circumstances, the homework may change unexpectedly.

Each Grading Period:
Students should complete most assignments during the class period. If the majority of students had time to complete the assignment, then the other students must complete them for homework. Some activities can be finished or made up at home. Otherwise, I do not assign HW very often.

Refer to Portal for current assignments and the posting of grades. I try to have them entered within 48 hours after they have been collected.

It is imperative that all parents sign up for and monitor Portal. Our office staff will help you get your registration and password to complete your process. This enables you to check grades and assignments 24/7. You are able to easily contact teachers directly from this site. You can set the program to notify you by email or text for important changes in your child's performance. If you do not have a computer, you may use any library's computers... including ours at OMS. We will assist you in getting the information you need to support your child and Osceola staff.
We thank you, in advance, for following through with this important parent responsibility! Let me know if I can be of any assistance in this process.
