Mrs. D. Johnson's Classy Classes   Osceola Middle School

Teaching is Fun in Lots of Ways!!

Kids Need to See Us as Real
In 6th grade, we have found that if a VIP student gets to know that our teachers are Very Important People, too; we will be able to make learning fun and have more learning take place and better behavior in the classroom. By getting to know the fun side, somehow the serious side gets to be respected, too. We have loved taking lots of photos of our students and school functions. Students love the use of technology in my classroom. Here are some pictures we scanned into the computer and uploaded to this site. How easy and fun! Plus... we always know where to find them quickly and easily!)

I am the M&M, our little pumpkin: retired OMS teacher, Rosemarie Romine, and our funny elf: retired OMS teacher and current volunteer, Jane Alsten.

E-Team Celebrations
After each grading period, those students who have five or more E's (Excellent Conduct Grades)are invited to attend E-Team Celebrations. Those students who are on the Principal's List (All A's)or Honor Roll receive certificates and may participate in special events. After the volleyball and basketball seasons, the students challenge the Osceola Middle School staff to competitions. Mrs. Romine and Mrs. Johnson are cheerleaders for the OMS staff!

Teacher Appreciation Week
Our students choose to write their favorite elementary teachers either by writing a letter, card, or on a St. Petersburg Times blog. The teachers often write back to the students and middle school teachers
to tell them how honored they feel!

Even my little Westie has school spirit!!
Ms. Arsenault tells us all to "Make wise choices and take pride in all that you do. If you do that you will be guaranteed to have great successes." When it comes to the bad things you sometimes hear about that go on at some schools, our deputy says, "NOT at my school!" We are very blessed to have such a wonderful environment in which to learn and teach!
