UnClub photos are taken each year for the OMS yearbook. UnClub has over 100 members by the end of the school year, with 50-85students attending each week!
Each year, fifth graders come to OMS to see where they will go to middle school. Here is a speech one of the UnClub members gave at the 5th grade orientation.

"We have a really cool club called the UnClub here at Osceola Middle School. It is a student-led prayer group. Every Friday morning before school, kids pray for the school's teachers, students, families, and things in our own lives. We have a music video of a group WE like to listen to that has positive messages that pertain to kids our ages. Some examples of recording artists are Michael W. Smith, Carmen, Newsboys, DC Talk and Rebbecca St. James.

We sometimes read a devotion out of books like If God Loves Me, Why Can't I Get My Locker Open?. One of the students asks the others if they have prayer requests or to tell about good things that happen in our lives. We tell others about the fun things going on in our youth groups and encourage them to attend. Sometimes we invite guest speakers to come to our meetings. Some students encourage their church youth pastors to come. Some parents attend, too.

So, we hope you all will try to attend. We will have our first meeting soon after school starts, so listen to the announcement!"

dream high
"What UnClub Really Is" By: Krystina B. from The Osceola Times<\i>; May, 2005; Vol. 1, Issue 2, page 5
I waited in the bus circle, for the two doors to open up when Ms. Johnson came out saying, “Ok Unclub, come on in.” You might want to come and share (in the) fellowship. It is to learn about other beliefs besides our own. Not only does UnClub teach kids about faith, but it also teaches kids how to be nice people, have good hearts, and help others.

UnClub started because (a student) had the idea of kids coming to a club and learning new things. What a great idea that was!

When I walked into the UnClub room, I watched everyone fill up the room with bottled up excitement, waiting to be let free. There were about 20 desks and tables together and all of them were filled and some were standing. UnClub gives kids something to look forward to every Friday.

Truthfully, my friends were always telling me how great UnClub was and I didn’t believe everything they said. When I went, it was more than what they said it was. It’s weird, because you can learn so much in less than 30 minutes. I know that I take in everything they say and I use it in school and other places.

I lot of people like to do prayer requests. A prayer request lets students tell us their prayers and we all pray for them. We also pray for “unspoken prayers”. Students will just say, “I have an unspoken.

UnClub is something I think every kid should come to at least once. UnClub is every Friday at 9:00 a.m. Just go to the bus circle and wait until Mrs. Johnson comes out and says, “UnClub, come on in.” I am sure you will want to come back again and again!
