| | RUS Unit 1 Calendar - Readers Build Good Habits | Reading Unit of Study - Unit 1 Calendar: Readers Build Good Habits
Revised Aug. 2011 to go with Pinellas County's sample calendar. This is how we organized our reading... but please take time to organize lessons according to the needs of your students. |
| | Readers ToolKit | | Create this tool kit by cutting a folder in half. Place the "Readers Tool Kit" on the front page. On the inside right, place the two reading strategy cards. On the inside left side, leave space for the post-it-notes and arrows. Then place the two small windows showing how to use the post-its and arrows next to that space. On the back, glue on the hand and ways to work with a partner. Laminate them for durability and finally add the post-its and arrows. Enjoy |
| | "How to" Guide for the Readers Toolkit | Here's a detailed guide for creating reading toolkits. (This year I'm using 1/2 pocket folder so that my kiddos can store their bookmarks and pencils.)
I assemble the whole toolkit and laminate it prior to giving it to my kiddos. Then I "slowly" teach each strategy so that student's "own" and therefore "use" the kit to their best advantage. |
| | Reading and Thinking Strategies Bookmark | | Here are the reading and thinking strategies created by Delores Hudson from Frontier Elementary. You can make these front & back... just watch how you cut them apart. |
