Washington Park overlooking Warren, Pa.
Warren, Pennsylvania, This is sorta where I grew up. My actual home is just outside of Warren in a small town called Russell. In the summer it was beautiful, with rolling hills and small creeks where as a child; I would swim in and camp by. In the fall, the leaves on the trees would change color to vivid reds, yellows, and oranges. The winter... well, it was pretty cold! Boy would it snow! I can remember sled riding on hills that would make you shiver with fear. The ride would be better than any roller coaster I have ever ridden. Of course we can't forget about spring, when the snow melts and the new flowers begin to come up. The trees suddenly begin to turn green. I could go to grandmas house and smell the maple syrup cooking on the stove. Run outside and gather the sap as it was running from the maple trees! At any time you can wake up in the morning look out the window and find a flock of turkeys feeding in the yard; or perhaps a few deer scrounging for feed. I miss the calm, peaceful, and serene days of living in Northwest Pennsylvania. |
